With his dry sense of humour and a critical mind, Marc Paulusma (Studio MARC) is on a quest to create new connections between man and nature. His studio performs research and designs a sense of wonder, to make people more aware of the impact we have on our surroundings and how it can impact us.

He experiments with biological processes, residual flows and researches the relationship between man and nature. During this process new products, techniques, installations and experiences come into existence. They create awareness by combining function and storytelling and challenging the public into participation. The Biosphere for example is a plant-based water filter that teaches people the joy of caring for a plant whilst the plant in exchange provides clean drinking water.

His research and accompanying designs are either self-initiated or on commission to be tailored for your query. Studio MARC works together with nature and culture foundations like museums, but also with companies with an interest in sustainibility. He also collaborates with scientists to investigate the potential of new research.

“I am a voyeur of society, by observing our ways I gain the inspiration to create”

Changing our way of doing starts by changing our way of thinking and the best way to reach that is by creating an awesome experience. Challenging the public in a playful way to think about nature, the self and what we value.
